Tour 1: The Vatican Museums
The unicque experience of the Vatican Museums can be a nightmare or a dream. We will try to offer you the dream ... no crowds (is that! possible ???! Yes.)
The tour starts at 2:00 pm. The meeting point is at Caffé Vaticano at 1:45 pm, in front of the entrance of the Vatican Museum at the opposite site of the street. (see map below)
I'm offering the so-called "extended Tour" and last about 3 1/2 hours. Ends in St. Peter's Basilica.
We are first visiting wings that nobody does.
1. the Pio Christian Museum: artifacts of the Catacombs and the statue of Augustus Prima porta.
2. the Pinacoteca: from 1250 until 1830: Giotto, Raphael, Leonardo, Caravaggio and so much more.
3. Gallery of Carriages and cars of the popes.

The tour starts at 2:30 pm. The meeting point is at Caffé Vaticano at 2:15 pm, in front of the entrance of the Vatican Museum at the opposite site of the street. (see map below)
I'm offering the so-called "classic Tour" and last about 3 hours. Ends in St. Peter's Basilica.
Walking through one of the one above wings of the Vatican Museums, gets explained the origin of the Vatican State and it's history.
After that I offer you the introduction of the Sistine Chapel by using the electronic screens. (only the official guides of the Vatican can use them - and in which I can enlarge with finger touching the details). Once finished, the entrance door of the Vatican Museums are closed and we walk through the museums without people pushing us through it.
All what is included in the classical tour we will visit, with special attention to the ancient statues that inspired Michelangelo for creating the Sistine Chapel.
At 5:00 pm we are arriving in the Rooms of Raphael ... and often be the only ones there. (during the day, you wouldn't see the floor)
At 5:17 pm, the guardians of the museum are opening the gate from the last room of Raphael towards the Sistine Chapel..... it means that we don't do the Modern art section of the museum.
We will close the Sistine Chapel. At that time, we are almost alone, and have 15/20 minutes to admire it .... being seated !!!!!!!
The guardians of the Museum suggested that I should have the keys, being always the last one to leave the Sistine Chapel. At least, they could get home earlier if I had the keys.
From the Sistine Chapel, we exit to enter directly in the Saint Peter's Basilica. You have still over one hour to admire one of the most amazing buildings in the history.
Important to know ...
The Vatican Museums can close certain sections without warning. I can't guarantee that All items will be visited !

Meeting point:
Opposite the entrance of the Vatican Museums at the bar: Caffè Vaticano, Viale Vaticano 100.
Beware: the bar is (very) expensive, but delivers excellent food.

The tour can be challenging, water is available in the site, and, (and, especially if you have children), best take a snack with you or even better a banana - that gives you an immediate boost of potassium !!
